Wow! My very first blog post, I'm sure I'll get better at this with practice! My name is Katie. My husband and I live with our 2-year-old daughter on 17 acres in midwestern Michigan. We are modern-day homesteaders, and we travel all over the state during the springtime shearing alpacas, llamas, and a few small flocks of sheep for about 175 other farms. Having my hands in so much fiber and wool is a fiber-artist's dream!

My purpose of starting this blog is to share information, techniques, or stories on topics such as knitting, spinning, fiber, and animals. I may share bits about our homestead from time to time as well. Today, I'm keeping it short, saying hello, and to let you know there is lots more to come! Will you join me on this adventure?

Let's grab a cup of tea (or coffee if you prefer) and get cozy and knit! What are you working on? I am developing a new pattern to someday add to my shop (picture coming soon) of a capelet. The prototype is being made from a yarn I am no longer making, 75% Romney Wool and 25% Angora. The yarn is a pretty steel gray but sheds a little, and the skeins were getting shop worn and ragged looking, so I pulled what little remained from inventory to do something else with.
